We had to show our never say die character once again after coming back late on Sunday to earn a hard fought 2-2 draw with Harbour View at WespoW Park and maintain the top spot in the points tables.
Harbour View led 2-0 and were celebrating going back home with all three points when MBU struck late, Cordel Simpson got his first goal of the season in the 90th minute to cut the deficit to one then Owayne ‘Turtle’ Gordon worked his magic with a goal deep into time added on to salvage a point.
It was the second time in three games that Gordon would save MBU blushes after he had scored late against Humble Lion for a 1-1 draw.
Jorginho James who scored for Jamaica as a 17 year-old schoolboy on his national senior team debut against Cuba, gave Harbour View the lead in the 30th minute and Kevaughn Frater scored what looked to be the winner in the 79th minute.
With the point, Montego Bay United inched up to 14 points, same as Portmore United who also drew 0-0 with Humble Lion while Harbour View stayed in ninth place on seven points.
Heavy rains that started just after the kick off left the field soaked and the underfoot conditions heavy, affected the playing conditions but the fans and the MBU coaching staff went home happy.
