Coach Paul ‘Tegat’ Davis’ message is getting through as Montego Bay United hammered Boys Town 4-0 in their third round game at the Barbican field on Sunday to ensure we would stay atop the points tables in the Red Stripe Premier League.
After Wednesday’s 2-1 win over FC Reno which Davis described as indisciplined, Owayne Gordon scored twice in the first half to lead MBU to a resounding win and improve to 51 points from 26 game, two more than defending champions Arnett Gardens who have played one game less.
Allan Ottey continued his return to form, scoring in back to back games while Ronaldo Rodney got the fourth against an over powered Boys Town team who are stuck on 30 points, same as FC Reno.
We have beaten Boys Town three times this season by an 8-0 aggregate after earlier 3-0 and 1-0 victories.
Gordon who is now 11 goals, best among active players and trailing only former teammate Dino Williams and former Rivoli United striker Cory Burke, both oh who are signed with American clubs, got MBU up and running with a double in just 10 minutes.
Gordon scored in the second and 10th minutes while Ottey made the score 2-0 in the 51st minute with his third goal of the season.
Rodney got his fifth goal of the season in the 74th minute when he caught a slow moving Boys town defence and fired past the goalkeeper.
