Nil all draw with UWI
Montego Bay United inched closer to semi-final place after playing out a 0-0 draw against newcomers UWI-Mona in our third round RSPL game in Kingston on Sunday.
It was the second 0-0 draw between the teams after we had won the first game 3-0 as we moved to 55 points from 28 games, five more points than defending champions Arnett Gardens who have two games in hand.
We can clinch a semi-final place in the next two games which will come after we have completed the first round CFU Group 3 scheduled between March 9-13 at Catherine Hall.
We ended the game on Sunday with 10 players after central defender Ladale Richie was sent off in the 87th minute after picking up his second yellow card and will miss the game against Cavalier on March 17.
It was the second straight game that a MBU centre half was being sent off as John Barrett missed Sunday’s game after he was red carded against Tivoli Gardens in the previous game.
We had the better of the few chances created and a shot from Lesly St Fleur was blocked by the UWI goal keeper Amal Knight and fell right at the feet of Donovan Carey who missed.
